I am feeling like we lost our desperation in the church. We feel so self-sufficient. It is a shame that often people and groups have to be brought to their knees before they wake up. It is so much better to wake up before you get to that point…the truth is, we desperately need Jesus…we just don’t often recognize or feel that as intensely as we should

For how many decades was the gospel overlooked in the cofC? This was a tragedy.
I thank God for Jim Woodruff, who was minister of the College church in Searcy during the mid seventies, who woke me up to the gospels.
I am not sure any of his predecessors or fellow ministers did such a thing.
