One of the difficulties that I see with associating yourself with this movement (if you have grown up CoC) is the fact that there are still some many things undefined about what these churches believe. However, in many ways it is like the CoC- autonomous churhces, seeking to be more organic-like the 1st century church. I would say that it is like being connected with any large movement- there are parts of it that I disagree with, but I believe in what they are trying to pursue. The same is true for remaining a member of CoC- I don’t agree with the practices of every congregation, yet the pursuit of seeking a simple practice of faith is Christ is important to me.
I voted “unsure” due to the fact that I’m not sure what the “emerging church” is much less what it would mean to associate oneself with it. Any good places I can go for the Cliff Notes?

As a general rule, I’m for Ecumenism if there is firm enough common ground to stand on
