It has taken me over nine months to figure out how to start a solid discipleship ministry. No. I got that wrong – it isn’t one more ministry. Let me try that again. It has taken me over nine months to feel adequate in my approach to launching into discipling relationships with some other men.
Like many of you, I had done this before, but always one on one. That can work but I am learning it isn’t always (or even usually) the best approach. In order to take what I am learning and get it into more hands I made a video explaining the approach and pointing you to further resources.
If you want to make disciples – if you are willing – knowledge shouldn’t be the thing that stops you. One thing I have learned recently that I want to pass on to help you out is this – there are a lot of people with the answers out there. You just have to want to find them.
Here is where I started. Maybe it will help you start too. My hope is that through these conversations our churches will turn to creating discipling cultures so we can start growing again.
But here is the catch – if all you think is the preacher will do it for you, we are dead in the water!
