Breaking the Neck of The Bottle Means No Going Back

“Now the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread were only two days away, and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were scheming to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. “But not during the festival,” they said, “or the people may riot.”

While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head.” – Mark 14:1-3

There were ways of opening jars. If you want to keep some of the contents for later you unseal it. If you want to pour it all out you break the neck and then there is no going back.

Our relationship with God is like that bottle. Many of us want to unseal it, pour a little out and seal it back up…saving some for ourselves. Or maybe we only pour a little out because we are operating out of scarcity mindset.

But she broke it because it because she knew it already all belonged to Jesus.

We need to live our lives like that – out of brokenness comes a complete outpouring!

Break the bottle. Pour it out. Live abundantly with Jesus supplying everything you truly need.
