The Prayers We Never Pray

Helped by this? Tell a Friend! ---->

Prayer is an exercise in faith. We say things one could only say by faith.

Prayer is also a gauge of our faith. How far are we willing to commit? What are we willing to ask for and what feels like too much, too big or too impossible a thing to say or ask for.

There are some prayers we never pray because our faith hasn’t caught up with the situation. Maybe the solution would require God to operate in a way inconsistent with what we think God still does.

Think about the prayers you never pray and ponder what that says about your faith. We may have some stretching to do!

God is faithful and He can do more than we can ask or imagine. So go ahead and pray the bold prayer. Is a no to a bold prayer any worse than not praying at all? Why not risk the chance God might just say “yes!”

  1. Thank you for the message on pray I really needed that. I just don’t want to be selfish in my prayers because I know there are other in much worst situation then I’m in because I got myself in the hot water. Again I thank you for the information on prayer.

  2. The Lords Prayer is never said. First, the prohibition on vain repetition would have to be overcome. Even the fact that Jesus taught it was still not enough to get in to the cofC. Also, there is a phrase “thy will be done” which runs counter to human nature which wants G-d to act on our terms in the way we want, not in the mysterious way that the old hymn mentions.
