Paul wrote in Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
In the wake of a pair of tornadoes there is a lot of good going on all around us. People are jumping in, giving of their time and resources. School buses full of supplies are coming in. People are out helping others all over the place.
People want to give. We are getting calls from all over the place. People want to give.
Where there is much tragedy there is also much good being done. People in these situations and Christians in particular don’t respond to bad with bad but to bad with good.
It is a beautiful thing to watch that amongst all the hurt there is also a lot of help. Amongst the crying there is compassion. Amongst the pain there is prayer.
While you may not live near where the tornadoes hit you can do a lot of good today. Just be on the look out for the opportunity and jump in. Give of yourself. Give of your time. Give of your resources.

It occurs to me spend a lot of time in talking about love, teaching about love, preaching about love, learning about love, but actually putting love into action no as much. When the hurricane came through and flooded many houses in the neighborhood, I put what I learned into action. It felt good and right and I still couldn’t do enough. But I did what I could for those in need. I felt more like a Christian then, than my many hours in church.
This. I think we have knowledge but we often lack concern.
“It’s not enough to care.
We have to care enough to act.”
Less talk, more action.
