Refocusing the Blog

March 28th, 2009 · No Comments · Blogging, Kingdom Living

I think it is time to refocus the blog. Just like I think sermon series are a good idea where people have an idea of what is coming next and that there is some sort of theme, I think it is time for the blog to get a little more focused. I am sure there will still be a hodgepodge of this and that, various and sundry bits of politics and humor. But for the most part, I really want to spend more time fleshing out the Gospel and how God is working in the world on our behalf in more ways than we can count. There are several things that I think will accomplish this. A couple of them include:

  • More focus on the Gospels – I plan on doing a series on the parables/teaching of Jesus in the coming weeks.
  • More practical ministry focus
  • More pointing you to other bloggers, websites, and resources of those who are God-focused.
  • I would say less of me getting in the way but that is bound to happen no matter how hard I try not to.

I may be chaning things up a bit in terms of links, pages, etc in order to make the blog a better resource and more practical. I am sure more will come to mind as I work through this in my own thinking but I have been thinking for some time I need more focus here. I am not really a fan of a big name change along with a URL change. In fact, you may not even notice a difference. This post is more for me than it is for you. It is a reminder to me to get back to what is the most important thing.
