Disc Golf Stimulates the Economy in Austin Texas

Looks like one of the proposals in the stiumulus package is $886,000 for a 36 hole disc golf course in Austin, TX. This will create four jobs in the Austin area. While disc golf is near and dear to my heart this doesn’t sound like the best way to stimulate the economy and create jobs. There is also a proposal for a dog park in Chula Vista ($0.5 million), and a butterfly park in Boynton Beach, Florida ($4.5 million). What would make your wish list? Here is the Wall Street Journal article. I guess the big story in all of this is the $30 million for protecting mice in Pelosi’s district. I guess if I get a tax rebate check or some sort of Obama kickback I can always buy a plane ticket to play disc golf in Austin!
