With all the ads going lately you would think answering a phone in the wee hours of the morning is the number one criteria for being president. Well I have to tell you, I have a real problem not answering my phone. When my phone rings I feel like I have to answer it. Not to mention the fact that I am really good at answering the phone in the early morning or late night hours. So, if answering the phone makes one qualified to be president, write me in because I would be excellent at that!
And what is the deal with Barak saying he stood up against the war in Iraq and that he showed better judgment by being against it when he wasn’t even in the Senate when that vote was cast? Can someone help me with the rationale for that argument?

Well, I can’t help you much with the rationale question. It’s all gotten a bit tedious for me. Before long we will be debating the meaning of linking verbs, or some such thing as that.
Since I can hardly find the phone when it rings in the middle of the night, would you mind if I just forwarded my calls to your number?

One of Hillary’s major arguments has been that we need experience on day 1. So Obama is retorting her argument with “we need the RIGHT KIND of experience on day 1.” That is, he’s saying that his better judgment trumps her “experience that leads to bad decision-making.” That’s the rationale.
Hmmm…my gut level response to that is to say it is easy to armchair quarterback something you had no say in. Let’s travel back in time to the day the Senate voted to go to war in Iraq and let’s pretend Obama was in the Senate. He is basically saying that if he had been given the same intel that everyone else was getting and that was corroborated by other countries regarding Iraq’s WMD’s programs that he would vote NO on a war with Iraq? It is easy to look back and say we had bad intel and it was a bad decision. That is easy to say once you have all the facts after the decision has been made.
If Obama wants to say he has the right kind of leadership the way to prove that is to point to situations that he actually had an effect on through his superior leadership skills and say, “Look what I did…experience counts.” Not point to something he had nothing to do with and say, “I knew better” or “I could have done better.”
Yeah, hind sight is always 20/20, though people’s memories can seem a bit fuzzy, too! A lot of people supported the war seem to want to remember otherwise. haha
Honestly, I don’t like any of the options for President in 2008 that are left. I probably just won’t turn on my TV for at least the next 4 and ::sigh:: maybe the next 8 years.

I am no longer a slave to my phone. If I am busy or doing something … especially having a conversation … I do not answer my phone. There’s an answering machine there for a reason. If it’s important, they will leave a message and I will get back with them. The only exceptions are my wife and son and daughter.
I do realize, of course, that this post was not really about answering the phone.
