  1. I want to thank you for having this. I sit beside my mothers death bed right now and my father has asked me to find this as a comfort to him. Thank you.

  2. This is the most heart tugging verses that are out there for any of us that have went through this.
Thank you so much. I had to do alot of searching to find the name of this.
I am still trying to find the printed words so I can print it off and keep in my Bible.

  3. My sister and I first heard this poem on the Bill Gaither Video on Heaven. It has been very comforting to us. Our mother is in the process of going home to be with the Lord. She has served the Lord for many years and loves Him. Her body is tired and she is ready to go home. Our pastor knew the poem. We found the printed poem by looking up James Weldon Johnson.
Wintley Phipps does a marvelous job of reciting it.

  4. This is so filled with the grace of God. I am waiting for my wife of 63 years
to be brought home by Hospice to wait for this to happen to her.
No more night, no more pain, no more tears, never crying again!
Praise God forever. I’ll se her again “WELL”

  5. The greatest comfort one can find during the time of a loved one’s demise is to trust in the word of God who sent his Son who is the Word. It is not the human who is getting over the pain of losing a loved one, but it is the person, presence, and power of the great Comforter, sent from God as promised, “Blessed as they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matthews 5:4. Wheather one is a believer or not, this promise is sure to all, the just and the unjust. “For the living know that they shall die: but the dead now not any thing, neither have they any more reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. :6 “Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing this is done under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 9:5-6. God’s word promies the resurrection Revelation 20:6 ” Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection on such the second death hath no power….” Oh, what a promise, “For the Lord Himself, shall decend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the trump of God:and the dead in Christ shall rise first: :17 “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. :18 “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” I Thessalonians 4:16-18. They are all asleep/resting awaiting the resurrection. Their deeds are record in the heavenly books and their works do follow them.
