Pavarotti, D. James Kennedy, and Steve Faucett?

We are reminded that life on earth is only a vapor.

Pavarotti dead at 71

D. James Kennedy dead at 76 (H/T to n Adam Gonnerman for brining this to our attention).

Steve Faucett missing for three days. We need to pray that he would survive whatever has happened to him and that it might be a point in his life he realizes his profound need for God.

And where on earth is Bobby Cohoon? He posted on Eulogy in early July and hasn’t posted on his blog since. But seriously, I am always amazed at the end of each year when they show the list of who has past away it is always pretty shocking. We all have our own lists of loved ones who have past on to be with God. Those of us who are left are reminded of Paul’s words to the Corinthians,

Therefore we are always confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.” – 2 Cor 5:6-9
