If you were to make a list of your top ten blessings what would they be? I wonder how many of them would be spiritual and how many material. I have been thinking about how I am so blessed to live where I live and do what I do. I have been thinking about how blessed I am to have a home and food to eat. I have been thinking about how blessed I am to have different clothes to wear each day and a car to drive places. But none of those hold a candle to the blessings we have in Christ. The blessings Christ brings don’t count only for the rich or materially nourished. They count for everyone: big or small, rich or poor, you name it.
We are blessed to have a spiritual family. We are blessed to have a spiritual home. We are blessed with new spiritual clothing. We are blessed to have a perfect Father. We are blessed to have new chairs to sit in near Christ. We are blessed with a new song to sing. We are blessed to have been brought back to life. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing!!!
What a wonderful God of grace we serve! How well do our prayers of thanksgiving reflect the greater blessings?

I can give you 100 reasons why I’m physically blessed in about 2 seconds. As for spiritually blessed I’m not as quick. The problem is sometimes my physical blessings are right in front of my eyes and my spiritual blessings require me to look closer.
I really don’t think I have a clue just how spiritually blessed I am. Even in my greatest attempt to understand my spiritual blessings, I still can’t scratch the surface on how blessed I REALLY am.

I feel the same way. I often pray thanks to God for the things that I don’t yet understand but one day will because I know he is doing so much behind the scenes that I don’t have a clue about.

Over the past few years, I have been convicted that even difficult past experiences are truly spiritual blessings. The times of tragedy and pain have forged in my spirit a deeper reliance on Him. I am grateful that He truly “works all things out for my good”. Spiritual blessings? There are thousands perhaps millions. Some are both spiritual and physical—like a christian spouse. I think we would be surprised at how so many of our physical blessings are for the good of our spiritual souls.

As I was reading Ephesians chapter 1, I have been intrigued with finding out more about spiritual blessings. I think in the tough times of our lives we narrow our look at the circumstances around us. I know for a fact that the enemy would like nothing more than to reduce me down to desperation not fully embracing the armor God has provided for me. It just happened to make me question how many of “all the spiritual blessings” I am missing out on because I am not fully taking the authority on them. My quest right now is finding a place, resource or answers on what are these spiritual blessings. The deeper ones, maybe more theological ones?
