This is a local story and I am not sure how much attention it is getting but it is really crazy.
Click here for one crazy and sad 911 call or here for another version. I heard the audio of this today and it would break your heart to hear it. I am not sure what they are going to do about this but hopefully something will be done to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
One quote not given in this piece is that when the supervisor heard that she had died he reportedly said, “Another one bites the dust.” We are reminded that life is short and the unexpected happens. Maybe this is a reminder that we all could use a little training in some basic life-saving techniques.

I worked as a volunteer police chaplain for about 8 years and I discovered that emergency service often use crude or sarcastic humor to deal with the atrocities of life that they faced. I also realized that most of the rest of the communtiy would not or could not understand this kind of thing. However, I have to say that some of the most compassionate acts I have witnessed came from people in this line of work. As in every occupation, a few bad or “stupid” people taint the witness of the rest.
