Moving Beyond Application Questions

For the first time in my Bible class experience we actually had application during Bible class this morning. The background of what we did is too much to cover in this post but will probably talk about more later. Our 20s & 30s class has decided that talking about our faith isn’t enough. We have mobilized our groups into action teams that are going to serve various groups inside and outside our congregation every single week. So during our Bible class this morning on what what the Bible says about the elderly we had some of our class members writing letters to all our widows, widowers, and shutins paving the way for them to start taking Bible class and worship to them on a semi-regular basis. This will mean some weeks some of our class members won’t be attending worship service at the building but will be out making a difference and worshiping with those who can’t make it. Needless to say, I am very excited.

At the end of class this morning I was able to say we didn’t need our typical application questions to “think about” for the week because we were actually doing something about it right then and there! Praise God.
